The car seat. My arch enemy lately. I love our seat. B fits in it great, has room to grow, it installs well in our cars.
B, however, has other ideas. The nearly 3 year old would much prefer to drive the car. Or sit up front. Or just on the back seat. Heck, the other day he asked to ride in the cargo area of my car!
The battles trying to get this kid secured in a car seat. Some days are fine, others it’s like WWIII. He won’t get in the car. He’s crawling all over the car. He’s in the seat and straight as a board refusing to be buckled. And the screaming. Oh the screaming.
Anyone have some been there done that advice? How can we handle this? We’ve tried talking to him. We’ve not pushing the issue, but that results in a half hour negotiation before we can leave. We’ve tried physically fighting him (it took the two of us 10 minutes to get him in and then he screamed for another 10+).

How do you feel about outright bribery?
I keep multiple flavored of tic tacs in the car for CARSEAT bribes. Works fabulously as a behavior threat too. No tic tacs if you done behave in the grocery.
Love it! Something easy to keep in the car that isn’t really bad for him or a big snack!
Do you have a dvd player or something? Special snacks?
